Tag configuration

Click the Tag tab on the Create automation configuration page, to display the Tag configuration section.

Tags enable you to enrich a customer profile, based upon their activities. For example, you can include all of the product categories that they have viewed, or add a completed order value to the total amount spent.

Configuring tags

To configure a tag, do the following in the In field boxes:

  1. In the first box, select the customer profile property that is to be modified or enriched.
  2. In the second box, select the appropriate action.
    Depending upon the selected property type, the following actions may be available in the second box:

    • String:
      • Concatenate with the fixed value.
      • Concatenate with the value of the event properties.
      • Replace with the fixed value of the event.
      • Set the value to null.
      • Empty properties.
    • Numeric:
      • Add the fixed value.
      • Add to the value of the event properties.
      • Subtract the fixed value.
      • Subtract the value of the event properties.
      • Set the value to null.
      • Empty properties.
    • Array:
      • Append the fixed value.
      • Append the value of the event properties.
      • Replace the fixed value.
      • Replace with the value of the event properties.
      • Set the value to null.
      • Empty properties.

You can define further customer profile properties and actions pairs, as required.
