Right to Rectification

The Data Subject shall have the right to obtain from the Data Controller without undue delay the rectification of inaccurate personal data (art. 16) concerning him or her. Taking into account the purposes of the processing, the Data Subject shall have the right to have incomplete personal data completed, including by means of providing a supplementary statement.


The right in the Contactlab Marketing Cloud

When the Data Subject exercises the right to rectification, the appropriate changes to the relevant profile can be made:

  • Using the API.
  • Manually in the UI.

If the Hub UI is used, the Data Controller can make the required changes as a normal customer profile update for the relevant Data Subject.
The changes made to a profile are then propagated throughout all platform modules in real-time.

What happens in the platform when the Data Subject exercises the right?

If the Data Subject is included in already planned deliveries or customer journeys, the following is needed:

  • Deliveries and plans with already generated lists:

    • In Send, retrieve the email and/or SMS delivery lists that include the contact, and decide whether to remove them or not.
    • in Plan, retrieve the list of scheduled plans, then in Send, add a previously created filter to the deliveries, as required, which checks for the relevant contact/s.
  • Active Customer Journeys:
    • In Flow, retrieve the list of all automations that include the Data Subject, and decide whether to remove them or not.
